teaching all levels of riders that are passionate
about learning and has spent more than three decades
competing, training, and teaching both horses and
riders. She is dedicated to providing safe, fun, and
comprehensive training that yields both immediate
and long lasting results.
Dawn’s teaching and training career has taken many
riders and horses to year-end
championships and awards at local, regional and
national levels of competition. She is a
nationally acclaimed USEF & AQHA judge for hunters,
equitation, jumpers, and hunter breeding with 20+
years judging experience.
Many clinics also include time set aside for video
analysis of clinic attendee's competition videos.
Dawn's perspective as a judge help riders learn to
evaluate and improve their riding skills through
video analysis. Riders also become acquainted with
the process of the hunter and equitation numerical
scoring system that is used by judges in the US.
Clinics feature small classes where horses and
riders are grouped by ability. Appropriate level
flatwork, gymnastics and jumping exercises help
riders achieve better position, confidence and
communication with their horse. Timing, duration,
and accuracy of aids are stressed to produce a
balanced and athletic equine partner.
Dawn is available throughout the U.S. for 1-3 day
clinics at your barn and occasionally
schedules clinics at her private facility.
Dawn offers a summer camp program to small groups of
competitive riders with their own
horses at Casey Ranch in Oklahoma. Clinics include
lessons, stable management, trail riding,
fishing, jump building, zip lining, cooking and
table etiquette, and the camps inspire great
friendships and memories.
